SWSBL Week 4: Bulls Are Surprising Many

Week 4 Results

Bulls 10 – Badgers 6

The Bulls have been surprisingly good this year, staying competitive in most games. The Badgers’ score sheet has pitcher Nathan Vicary taking the loss, allowing 7 runs (2 earned) on 3 hits, while somehow only throwing 2 pitches. Not sure how that could happen, but if it did, it is quite impressive. Zach Banks went 2 for 5 with a double for the Badgers, driving in 2 runs.

Exeter 8 – Badgers 5

The Badgers continue to have a tough 2016 campaign as they lose to the Express. Jake Skavinsky took the loss on the mound, allowing 3 runs on 1 hit with 4 walks in 3 innings. Alex Lamont and Jordan Ellis both went 2 for 4 with a double each. Express pitching allowed 5 runs on 11 hits. A total of 10 walks and 3 errors allowed Exeter to put up 8 runs on just 5 hits.

Sarnia 5 – Ilderton 2

The Braves stay undefeated, beating the revamped Red Army team. Mike Damchuk picked up the win, throwing 6 innings of 5 hit baseball. Nick Baljeu picked up the save. Damchuk helped his own cause, driving in the go ahead run in the 6th inning. The Braves plated two insurance runs in the bottom of the 8th. Leo Labine took the loss for the Red Army, who could muster only 6 hits against Sarnia pitching.

Strathroy 11 – Sarnia 10 (Game 1)

The Royals hand the Braves their first loss of the season in a slug fest. Sarnia’s offense continues to put but big numbers, including more home runs from Justin Randall and Alex McLean. The Royals pitching couldn’t hold a 7-3 lead, as Matt Cook, Matt Grasby, and Craig Steadman combine to allow 10 runs in 7 innings. Wade Babula started for the Braves and took a no-decision after Sarnia tied the game at 7-7 in the 6th inning. John Ambrose took the loss in relief.

Sarnia @ Strathroy (Game 2) – Postponed

Technical difficulties with the state of the art lighting at the beautiful ball field in Strathroy caused game 2 to be postponed…

Bulls @ St. Thomas

No result listed for this one as of yet.

Ilderton 9 – Lakeside 6

The Red Army shows off some offense against the Lizards. How Lakeside put up 6 runs, we aren’t sure of at this point.
